Patient Enrollment Solutions
Patient enrollment is the leading cause of time delays in clinical trials.
Simple Solution: Run clinical trials where patient enrollmentment is fastest! SPRI has a proven track record in this arena. Our philosophy, which is ingrained in each one of our employees, includes the following:
SPRI Philosophy
1. Work with clinicians experienced in your therapeutic area—they are best suited to diagnose, treat, and assess study patients
- Quantity of studies on the investigator's CV does not necessarily equal data quality. A thorough understanding of the patients, the drug, and the study endpoints yield quality!
- Provide training for investigators and site personnel, on-going support, and close monitoring to assist them in conducting the trial. These marginal up-front costs pay off consistently and significantly.
2. Facilitate appropriate patient selection
- Select sites with access to large patient populations—the PI can be selective. If you select the right locales, recruitment should be robust!
- Experienced clinicians are critical in minimizing errors in judgement.
- Set realistic expectations and timelines for patient recruitment. Again, there is no replacing veteran experience.
3. Design a protocol for success:
- Utilize input from clinicians on the ground who see patients daily.
- Minimize unnecessary or “exploratory” endpoints to protect from placebo-response. Do not keep the patient at the clinic longer than is necessary.
- Assess CRFs for usability and clarity.
